Description

This is my (early) Christmas gift for my good friend, the amazing LeWhimsira ! This is her character Waira, a fun waterdragon (like literally made-of-water-dragon!) running full speed ahead in her excitement to visit another new dimension. When I painted the background I wasn't sure how the dimension traveling would work exactly so I went with something more neutral and abstract. Also Waira definitely needed some darker backdrop to highlight her and show the slight translucency (Mostly a feature for those daring enough to zoom in^^). I think it ended up working out fine though with how it actually works so I decided to keep it. Working with the effect brushes was really fun here!

For Waira herself I really enjoyed painting the water effects and reflextions. I am actually super proud of it! At first I experimented a little with some droplets that might splash up from the motion but I decided against it. Also no drop shadow because I figured there would be no actual ground/floor there and I really liked this feel of running in the air. Oh also I am absolutley digging the black stripe thing on the top and bottom! It might show up a bit more in my artworks now.
