The coloring in the hair is a stark contrast to the coloring of the skin and background. The hair is soft like it's blended, but in the face and background, it's more visible where each shade of color is. I really like the soft shading of the hair, and separately I like your other unique technique of shading shown in the skin, but I'm not sure if they go too well with each other. I suppose it depends on the picture itself... but this is nice anyway.
