Kal: How long have I been in the dark for? I've lost count. My amulet did something new, it manifested animal guides. One with a link to my friends, a small ghost cat, and one in tune with...me, a animal I had befriended before... I feel as if someone is watching me.

OK, so, I wanted to draw a tiger REALLY, REALLY BADLY and I wanted to work it in with Kal's lore. I also wanted Kal to have a link to the world of Light (aka Twitter) if only for this one image. Something to keep her going.
I will say this, take notice of the background in this image. The destroyed village.
In CANON, Kal's magic has gotten worse to where she has no control over it. Her eyes are still acclimating to the dark.
