Description Good ol' Christian Learning Education.

Had I listened to that teacher, I seriously doubt I'd be where I am today.

Or maybe I'd have been a much saner person then. 8|

Lol. Oh dear.
I don't think it's wrong to love your chacters.-Just as long as you don't love them more than your God.-Or put them before spending time with him.(Prayer, church ,Bible ect.)
As for the teacher,I'm afraid her reaction may have been overeactive.-But I wasn't there-I didn't hear what you told her ect.

Heheh, that's pretty funny! And I'm glad you chose to remember this with a sense of humor. As a religious person myself, incidents like this are funny, but sad. Sometimes, people take experiences like this way too seriously and end up going on the warpath against"those people." The truth is, there's crazy people pretty much everywhere. Wait, what? Here, too!? Ok, scratch that. There's crazy people EVERYWHERE! Anyway, I just know this is going to spark another interesting discussion about religion. I hope things don't go overboard.

As you may have noticed from talking to me in person, I'm actually rather conservative. Still, I like to think of myself as imaginative...at least, a little. Meanwhile, please define "sane." I've never heard of such a thing!

I like your two characters (Jinn and Puff)! I hope you draw them out, sometime! That is, unless you've already done so. It makes me wish I was better at coming up with OCs. I could have used a few growing up. It would have given me something else to fill up sketchbooks besides disembodied facial features, robot parts, aliens, and whatnot.

As a Reform Jew, I remember going to Hebrew school and how the Rabbi would tell us what it means to be a good jew as well as to follow the ten commandments to the best of our abilities. But he would never tell us to fully believe in the stories of the Torah and the Bible, only in their morals. Well, one day, he was asked to go to a church (I can't remember which type) to tell his opinions about religion and thus compare it with the head of their church (I don't know what the head of a church's specific name is, or if he's just another priest). After my Rabbi told his unwillingness to fully believe the stories told in our holy books (just the morals), a few people of the church told him that they would pray for him. My rabbi just shrugged and thanked them before leaving. As for me, I'm glad that he shared that story with us during one of his services at the temple.

Now that is one sensible and wise teacher 8D
I'm kind of reminded now how our school had this really super nice priest (he passed away this year 8'<) and he always taught us the morals during services-

-and then of course, it was up to the nuns and CLE teachers to drum hellfire and terror in our heads |D

I think I discovered yaoi around 7th grade to high school, and was a major source of guilt-trip. |D

imaginary characters are the devil but yaoi in the middle of class is totally acceptable?

its sad how some extreme forms of christianity can dismiss creativity or curiosity. although its not 'being evil' as some may think, it still made darwin think more than a few times about publishing the origin of species.

I used to be an obsessively religious child... it was kind of creepy.
Wearing crosses and always worried about whether or not I was sinning...
But now, I don't let religion bother me as much anymore.

I wouldn't say I was obsessively religious as a kid, but the guilt-inducing habits they've hammered down still linger with me to this day. |D

Strange how religion can impact us the most at the tender ages but as we grow up, we grow skeptical.
I still can't bare lying; it rips me apart with guilt. T-T

Being religious, I get embarrassed when I see someone doing the whole IT BE THE DEVIL'S WORK bit. :I

LOL

See the thing really is that "not have any besides me"is incorrect. It's "not worship any other gods *before me*" because at the time the commandments were still new, pretty much every society had dozens of gods. This one was the one that wanted to get in the front of the line.

I love yer angels lol.

Back then, the idea was more "this is God, who created all the other gods so stop wasting your time with the small fry" which I always thought was pretty cool.

Not the way I've studied it, but that's the nature of the beast, eh? That things get translated, changed, mis-spoken, retold, and mutated over thousands of years

ah. christian schooling. I wish I coulsd say I know what that's like, but really I haven't the foggiest idea. I think it has something to do with rulers, plaid, and debauchery that would make a Las Vegas citizen blush.
