I don't understand what's happening from frames 5 through 9.

This person is getting alot of comments... But what I guess is that in frame 5 the match is lit on fire. Then he runs around (most likely in pain) and meets up with another match in frame 8. Then... they burn out together.... Its really sad...

Here I am, empathizing with a match. Laughing at it and then feeling sorry for it.
And I'm all "this is because you are crazy. It is a stick. A flaming stick."
And then I realized I was talking to myself. So instead I thought I'd tell you.

Wow, not only the expressiveness of your gesture is great, but also the story is perfectly achieved! A dramatic love history, a metaphor of love, also an analogy and a paradox. These illustrations remind me so much of one of those picture books with a tape accompanying it that I had when I was little. I think it was called "Little Man" or something, about a boy who found a 3-inch high man one morning when he woke up, and the friendship they formed. It was great, and so is this!

awww, that is cute and sad, in a way...*sniffs* beautiful work, i love the allegory and the way you used squiggles with your pencil to give misty effects. thanks for sharing this with us
