Description I should have done this on a larger canvas

"We've grown more accustomed to each other since I hauled the mare to the ranch. Her likeness to both saddle types is evident, granted there wasn't much trouble to be had in the beginning. I don't typically tack the western saddle on Nia but I was gifted a new native-yet-modified-type war bridle since mine was stolen (the prick) and I was curious to see how the mare would feel with it, because surprisingly it fit her. She knew enough leg command, so I was confident. A war bridle was to be taken extremely lightly, just the slightest misuse could be severe. Direction at the mouth is pretty limited with it, so like I said, neck reining or leg cues were a necessity. The most pressure I applied to her mouth was enough to lift the metal ring that attaches the reins to the twisted rope bridle, though responded better to leg cues than at the neck and did just fine in the round pen, post-daily workout. I didn't care for distance, hence just hanging out in pen, I just focused on the transition. Overall I'll say I won't be replacing my everyday equipment with this bridle anytime soon, with Nia, at least."
