I used a sweetie belle as a base so I did not need to paint her white.

Kind of adding to what ~stripeybelly was saying about the paints. I haven't been able to get out and buy any of the higher quality acrylic paint, so when it came time to paint the eyes an cutie mark on my pony I ended up just thinning down the acrylic paint I had with a small amount of water.
It took more time and a few more layers of paint, but I found I had way more control over the brush. And it made it so much easier to clean off stray strokes.

Extremely cute, but you should invest in some high-quality acrylic paints for the eyes. It's hard to get it to look smooth with heavy-body paints. I'm super jealous of your customs skillz though >.< *will never rehair*

I am planning on it soon. Last time I was at Hobby Lobby I noticed that the fancier acrylic paints werent as expensive as I thought.

Yeah, I use Golden Acrylic paints, it's only $4 a bottle for most colors, and the colors are all so bright and vivid. That and a nice synthetic brush really helps me out. (I'm far from perfect, but I would be much worse without these things.)
*knows nothing about rehairing tools* *or doll hair* maybe someday!
