This is my concept design for what Batman's gonna look like in a comic I'm working on called "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate" (a remake of issue 27 of Detective Comics, the first appearance of Batman in 1939). In this story I'm trying to show people what his character was like at the time. It's not supposed to be simply "Batman with guns" , but rather I'd want to show the detective aspects of him. I feel that over the years a lot of creators have gotten lost in the "super hero" aspects of the character. It seems they have lost sight of what the character was orginally created to represent. In all actuality, he is a detective, not a superhero.
Though Batman may have high tech gadetry and may be able to walk among gods, he is still human. Much of current Batman, for example, more commonly shows secretive hiding places like the Bat Cave, or the ever mechanically advanced Batmobile, which are toys an affluent detecive may own...but it is sad to see that Batman hasn't really been gathering clues for nearly 60 years. For christsake, Batman first appeared in DETECTIVE comics, not guy-with-a-lot-of-gadgets-who-fights-super-villian-comics! Not that those parts of the character aren't interesting...i just want to see more specimen and samples being gathered and analyzed. I just want to see more of the classic.
