Canon-wise, there's nothing ever between them but a deep friendship. Roy (the kiddo there) sometimes wishes it were more, but Yadot's married and utterly devoted to his wife, so it could never be..

That's actually a very valid question!!
Originally it was "Yadot" with a hard t sound at the end, but the first person to ever say his name outloud said it like "Yadoh" and I was like OOOOH it's like Waiting for Godot except Yadot and I thought it sounded awesome... but my head still says it like "Yado*t*" most of the time...
In the end, I like the ambiguity of the pronunciation of his name, so whatever suits your fancy is the correct answer :'D
