"Oh, Olive! You're all right!" Kay bashed in through the door and pounced right on top of Olive, brimming with pure happiness. Blackie followed close behind, silently closing the door behind him and merely staring at the "reunion" with a blank face.
"Yeah, I am. Look, Kay, I need to ask you something." Olive quickly recounted all that Sky had told her about the diary. "Tell me, does any of this spark certain… memories in your mind?"
Kay furrowed her brows for a moment, thinking. "I dunno, Olive. However, the description of this 'Kuro' guy sounds really familiar to me... I just can't put my finger on it..."
Olive nodded her head, satisfied, and waited for something to happen. Kay crossed her arms and cocked an ear at her as she sat patiently, saying nothing. A little while later, Kay grew fidgety and gave up. "Um… earth to Olive! Now what?" She waved a paw in front of the dark green eyes, and Olive shook her head disdainfully.
"In my dreams, Cresselia said to me that the key to all this was 'The memories'… if it's not your memories, Kay, then whose is it?" Olive said in a strained voice.
"Maybe," piped up Sky, "we should go back to Mt. Freeze. There might be some other clues we missed."
"Oh yay, great idea!" Kay brightened up, glad to hear something she could do.
"I'm coming wi-" Olive started, but Kay pushed her back into bed. "No no no, young one." Kay said in a mock-grown-up voice. "You should get some rest. Here, talk to Blackie or something while we're gone." Kay grinned and winked at both of the gaping Eevees. She bounded outside with Sky, leaving the two glaring at each other, refusing to speak to each other.
Upon arrival at Mt. Freeze, Kay and Sky split up, searching for any other artifacts that might cast some light upon the mystery. Sky headed towards the spot where he found the diary not so long ago.
The diary was gone.
But behind the place where Sky had left it last was a small entrance to an icy tunnel.
"Oh my Arceus! Kay, I found something!" Kay jumped in surprise, in the middle of examining a frozen Sitrus berry bush. She raced over to where Sky was pointing.
"It.. it's a cave of some sort!" Kay exclaimed, pushing aside small hunks of ice and clambering inside.
"And this is the place I left the diary after I read it. I don't know where it went, though…" Sky followed in and let his eyes wander around when something even whiter than the snow around them caught his eye.
"White…. Fur..?" Sky whispered.
Angelic tufts of pearly silver fur were scattered around the inside of the cave's entrance. Old shredded paper lay in pitiful heaps on the ground amongst.
"Those are the pages of the diary!" Kay's eyes widened as clue after clue presented themselves unto the two.
RRRRRRRRRRRRUMBLE……….!
"What was that?!" Sky asked quickly. Kay poked her head outside. Thick smoke and ashes were raining down on Mt. Freeze….
"Sky, we've got a big disaster here." She sighed. "Mt. Blaze has erupted."
Sky's bulbous eyes grew even larger in disbelief. "WHAT???! Impossible!"
"C'mon, let's hurry back and meet up with the team. There'll be many fellow pokemon to save." Kay scurried out of the cave, outrun by Sky shortly after.
As they were heading downslope, a tingling feeling of foreboding engulfed the Pikachu… she whisked around and faced the greatest surprise in her life. If she were any weaker, she might have suffered a heart attack.
A pearly-white Eevee was golden wings was racing towards them at tremendous speed. Her perfect angelic features were contorted into an undescribable expression of fury and insanity. Every strong step she took on the ground caused flames and magma to erupt from below, making it look like she was the mighty Entei himself. Behind her, the Frosty Forest was burning with a deadly fire. Charring ice and melting steam issued from the depths of the forest, and burning magma oozed down the hill in despairing tears.
"Sky-" Kay started to call, but at that split-second searing pain in her right shoulder blade made her double over. The Eevee lunged at Kay's throat trying desperately to slash it open. She wasn't going to show any mercy to the Pikachu that had been so kind and nice to her and her brother. "Zan!! What are you doing?!" Kay cried in shock and tried to dodge the attacks in vain. Zan didn't answer and continued to hit the poor Pikachu with her sharp claws. Blood oozed out of Kay's several wounds and also out of her mouth. She was near collapsing when she let go a mighty Thunder attack. It hit Zan square in the belly, but didn't even leave a scratch! Zan laughed insanely, her eyes contracting into deranged crimson ovals, and screamed "Fool!! You are no match for me and my powers!!"
Suddenly she was above Kay and shot downwards with incredible speed and power. Kay fell to the ground and her blood drenched the snow with a red equal to the color of the legendary Groudon. It was then that Sky hat noticed what was going on. He hurried back to Kay, and found her bleeding to death in the snow. "KAY! NO!" he screamed, when all of a sudden he was hit from behind. He turned around to look in the eyes of the angelic Eevee, which were overflowing with hatred and rage. "Zan! Why…?!" he cried, attempting to stop her from her rampage, but Zan didn't listen and only started to slash her deathly claws at him. Sky soared up high into the smoky sky and hoped to have the advantage. Zan smiled darkly and rose up to the same altitude. Gritting his teeth, Sky bashed toward Zan but she was as fast as a lightning bolt, swerving around and instantly attacking from behind. He managed to dodge the attack and as a final resort, bit down on Zan's leg. "AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!" Zan screamed in agony, stopping her attacks, but that was only for a few moments. Her rage was peaking, and soon there would be nothing that could stop her. She shot towards Sky to strike another blow with her forepaws, but Sky used his Agility to gain speed. He circled around, attempting to confuse Zan, then launched a surprise attack, grabbing her wings. Zan squealed in surprise as Sky threw her down to earth. A few seconds before she would've hit the ground she caught her balance and rose up again into the sky. She flew higher into the sky than Sky had expected her to and soon he couldn't see her above the grey clouds of ash. Then….
…Silence. He couldn't hear a single thing except the wind brushing his wings, humming so fast that they couldn't be seen. From the sky he could hear a faint growl as if something had exploded in the far away distance. But Sky knew the sound. It was when something was breaking the sound-barrier. His head shot upwards, spotting the shining white fur of the female Angel-Eevee racing towards him and hitting him hard on his back. He crashed down towards the ground and managed to soften his landing with his wings just in time. He crouched on the ground, panting hard. Then he shot upwards again. Gliding vertically into the sky, he opened his mouth and gathered indigo-blue energy, preparing a mighty Dragon Pulse attack. Upon reaching Zan's level he released the crackling ball of pure Dragon power with a gigantium force, his eyes widening in surprise as Zan dodged it gracefully. The last thing Sky saw was the beautiful silver fur near his eyes. Then he felt cold metallic claws pass through his abdomen. Blood poured out of his belly and fell like red rain onto the already stained ground. Sky's body followed that accursed liquid, crashing down next to Kay's unmoving body. Before he fell unconscious Sky whispered: "Oh Arceus....please......don't let them......kill.........Olive..."

Meanwhile, reports of the natural disasters streamed into Team Azul's base. Olive could not stand to stay in bed any longer. "Blackie, we just can't sit here and wait. There are other Pokemon who need help."
Blackie suddenly grabbed her arm as she jumped out of bed. "Wait. Sky and Kay are near Mt. Freeze. What if the magma's gotten there? We need to find them fast. Let other rescue teams help the injured Pokemon. We need to go and see if they're okay."
Olive stared at Blackie. Since when was he so considerate of Olive's friends? Before she could cover up her surprise with a sarcastic retort, Blackie reverted to his normal attitude. "So, are you just going to sit there like an idiot all day?" He rolled his eyes at Olive and sprinted out the door that Kay had bashed off its hinges a while ago. Olive recovered from her mild shock and tore after Blackie, yelling for Zoe to come and join them on their mission to Mt. Freeze.

Mt. Freeze held a disastrous scene. Olive, Blackie, and Zoe could not help but stare and sputter in horror as they surveyed the landscape.
"Okay, I'm fine with the volcano erupting and everything… but how does hundred-year old ice melt like this?" Olive said as she pawed at a blackened lump of shriveled ice at her feet. Blackie merely cocked his left ear to the side a bit and sniffed the air. Zoe jumped around in helpless circles, bewildered at the melting ice and burning grass all around them. It was then that Blackie growled, "Blood. Lots of it."
The other two turned their heads towards the direction Blackie was pointing his nose at.
After a very quiet sprint, they found bloodred colors in the snow. As they went on, it got redder. They finally found two limp, bloody bodies laying in the snow.
"Oh no! SKY! KAY!" screamed Zoe, dashing over to the dying pair. She shook Sky and Kay's shoulders, afraid that they were already gone, and smiled widely when Sky came to.
"I'm… not… dead?" he murmured faintly. Zoe nodded a quick "yes" and woke Kay also. She groggily grumbled something inaudible and half-opened her eyes. Zoe danced around in relieved jumps and scurried over to the Sitrus berry bush Kay had examined before, tumbling over several of the fruits before getting back to the injured two with armloads of them.
Olive sighed in relief to see her friends were still alive. But as soon as she closed her eyes she snapped them open again. Just what HAD happened to them?
Then she noticed Sky, now in bandages, beckoning her and Blackie to come close. She obeyed, Blackie hovering behind, and barely heard his hoarse words.
"There... a cave… behind here, where I found the diary… And sh-she's been in it… tore it all up... into shreds… attacked us... no mercy!"
"'She'? Who's 'she'?" Olive asked anxiously.
Sky shook his head painfully and laid his head back hard, taking in several quick, raspy breaths. Kay was in no fit state to talk either. She was half delirious, most likely from the physical shock she had taken from the anonymous foe.
Zoe straightened up from tending to Kay as Olive padded past her, Blackie following behind. "Are you going?" She asked. Olive nodded. "Sky just told us about a cave he found somewhere here, probably where their attacker is residing. I think this attacker has something to do with Trauma and Zan's disappearance… We'll be back after some tracking." Zoe hugged Olive tightly "Good luck. Please come back safe and with news of Trauma and Zan." She also nodded in acknowledgement to Blackie, who blinked his eyes once but said nothing. The Zigzagoon watched as the mismatched pair of Eevees disappeared behind the mountain rocks, hoping that all would end well, and resumed nursing Kay.
