In the show he is somewhere between 25-30 I think.. Don't remember quite. It's hard to really tell how old the characters are, thinking that JOn Snow is supposed to be 14 at the beginning.

You have to grow up quick in Westeros. I haven't read the books, just seen the series...My fiance has the books, I may get to read them someday, when I'm not busy...

Nice, thanks! I don't want to spoil anything for myself quite yet. I've only seen the show, I haven't read the series yet. My fiance has them, so one of these days... It's in the bookmarks though!
