Renge ( Lotus) - ”Far from the one he loves/Purity/Chastity”

  A friend of mine thought of setting this challenge for the month of august in our rp server on Discord. I kinda wanted to give it a try considering how rarely I draw flowers and ACTUALLY work seriously on them.
For those who don't know, Hanakotoba is about the meaning of flowers, or, as the name suggests if I translate it literally from Japanese, 'flower's words'.

So here's day five, Renge, or Lotus, with younger Kuro and Nuko.

  Ooooooooooookay so this was lots of fun to work on + helpful on developing backgrounds, .... + me sticking with my friend luminosity effect a lot XDDD As usual.
I love this kind of palette tbh.

  Here's a few fun facts: -It's very, veeeeeery rare of me to do so, but in this piece I actually started by COLORING (like wow) the background and then moved on to the characters. (Plz I don't even draw bg's that much.... this challenge is coming in handy %D)
-The lotus were the goal/main thing to draw................................ but they were the last thing I drew lmao. I honestly finished the piece by coloring them, and adding a few more luminosity effects.
-And last but not least.... at first I had no clue about what colors I would apply to my babies, but this turned out rather nicely, and I'm super glad for it xD
I had some confusing moments like picking the colors there and being like 'WOT?? is this really the color I'm using?? The one I'm seeing??? OVO));;;'

After the first 3 paragraphs, you have backstory there. In here, you're seeing the younger -I'd say pre-teens- Kuro and Nuko, but, although this never happened 'canonly'(cause this is kinda fantasy-styled), it's still linked to them and their past selves. As you can see, the meanings of the lotus differ a bit, but with this, I tried to embrace them all.

      For the part of 'far from the one he loves' I thought the meaning here could be, Kuro is destined to find his beloved one, but he has yet to grow and learn, to overcome his current obstacles, thus being far yet from being driven by love and passion around Alan.
   For 'chastity'.... well it's not that hard, they're still kids in this pic ahah.
And for 'Purity' well... let's say that there's stuff that they undergo (that I won't detail here), that they've seen and lived that they're not quite aware of how bad it is (and was). Even here, if they looked a bit older, one could easily consider this scene a rather intimate one, but it's not, and they don't even know about it. They're hardly aware of what intimacy means.
In here what you have is Kuro protecting his sister from whoever might look at them or wants to approach. They don't have family nor a place to live, so they live like this, one for the other; even most of Kuro's efforts are for the sake of his sister. Aside from knowing how hard it is to survive and how bad the world can be when it comes to that, and people accepting kids from the streets, they still remain as pure, innocent and ignorant as they look here.

I'd actually have more things to say, but the description is already long as it is, and the rest in my head is hard to put into words tbh xD
So let's keep it at this, but feel free to ask any questions if you have them !
