Description This is a cat that I drew for Silverpaw12... I really quite like it!
The anatomy took me AGES! If any of you know a anatomy book that covers a lot, please tell me! This is a made up character from the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. The characters name is Moonheart... she is in Mistclan(Silverpaw's clan)

It seems like you have a pretty good grasp of the anatomy of the cat, but I think I can give you some critique on the other aspects of this picture.

For a nighttime picture, the water is extremely bright. Since it's nighttime it should be fairly dark, with the only lighting being mainly the reflection of the moon, similar to this photograph [link] . The shading on the cat also looks as if it were more fitting for a daytime picture, with the lighting being on the top. But in this case I suggest that the overall color and shadows of the cat be darkened, with most of the highlights around the edge of the cat. I think this might help explain what I mean.[link] Notice how it's mostly the edges of the wolf that are highlighted. The rest of its body is fairly dark.

I hope this helps.

nice ambiance to the picture - especially with the night scene and the water seemingly so calm.

Critique:
The cat's figure is pretty close, actually, the only thing I suggest researching is paw placement (forward and back legs) to help with the feeling of roundness instead of a flat 2D picture. (also, practice is NEVER a bad thing... with a little direction you could improve a lot!)
On the background, I like the effect you've used for the water - except that it's suppose to be a river which flows down the banks instead of setting still to cause the horizontal look like that. It would work WONDERS on a lake, though, so keep that tool in mind for later. I especially love the reflection of the moon, though as a reflection it should be pointing the opposite way.
You loose the atmosphere in the background because the water just stops... try taking the river and bending it with the natural flow until it disappears on the horizon, coloring in grass and bare trees in the background. That way the sky has a ground to be up against, and again you get more of a 3D effect that way. You can still have the tree branches you have hanging out over the water without having to draw the trunks, though - and they make a nice frame for the sky and moon in my opinion.
Hope that helped some! :3

aww, i love the pose and how the water looks like the moonlight is reflecting off it! <3

As for anatomy books, i have a great one that has muscle drawings and skeletons of all sorts of animals. Sadly it doesn't cover domestic cats in huge detail, it has 4 full body diagrams, but it covers the horse, the cow, the dog and the lion in great detail with drawings of paws, heads and all sorts
It also covers the goat, the roe deer, the stag and has one drawing for the monkey, the seal, the hare, the rat kangaroo, the flying squirrel and the bat.
It's a bit bigger than A4 size and isn't too expensive either : D
