Hmmm, don't know how I feel about this one. Painting, especially bgs, is something I don't do enough of. Maybe I lack crucial understanding of unknowns. Its very puzzling(points to left building with puzzle cut walls).......hahaheh

Oh, jeez, extremely amazing details in this one! Super lovely, and gives you a very ... strange, lonely feeling. Awesome lighting, great depth, nice piece!

cool the brush strokes help add a bit more chaos to the piece which adds a lot. the way you have the lights set up was a great idea too lends alot to the viewers interpretation of what they are for. I could see zombies or worse comin out of the shadows with only the light to hold them back. the only thing is that the pastel colors do add a bit of a relaxed/calm tone. but I think you could pull it off with a few tweaks. one thing I think would be interesting would be to maybe lay the pink out flat or introduce a weird texture or pattern into the sky, something that messes with the viewers perception of normal...

cant wait to see what you come up with next. oh and as long as we're doing this just go ahead and automatically add my link.

very interesting, I think I'll try to participate and this weeks one. the sketch has a more destructive feel to it then this one. you also removed the smoke that ha added effect imho. and even though the pinkish orange background adds to the felling of desolation it also makes things look not so bad as they seem to be for the ones still living there.
not sure if all I said makes sense.
