Biography:
Being the only child in the Nakamura family, Emiko was born in Miyazu in North Kyoto. Her mother brought her up on her own since her father left her mother when Emiko was a little girl because of this her mother had to work extra shifts and be away from Emiko for hours to days at a time. Sometimes late at night she could hear her mother crying and this made Emiko want to be there for her mother. As Emiko grew older she became more independent in looking after herself and she started to work hard on her studies and chores for both her mother and herself.

When Emiko was in middle school she started developing a crush on her childhood friend, Dachi. She couldn’t understand why she felt the way she did once her friend started changing. It was all so confusing to her and she was too shy to talk to her friends about it. So Emiko decided to research these feelings through reading romantic novels, this is where her obsession with reading these stories started. No matter what time of day she would be reading a new book. When she wasn't in class, she was in the library where she felt peace and calm. Emiko got really invested into reading romance novels, she found it as an escape into someone else’s life, in another alternative world that isn't real. She would try to talk to her friends about the books she’s gotten into but they would just laugh at her and find her weird “Emiko that’s so cheesy and childish, that’s not what real romance is like”. Embarrassed Emiko kept her hobbies to herself, only talking about it online or if she feels comfortable enough to talk about it with others.

During her last year of middle school she decided to confess to Dachi however she got rejected… and because of this confession things got awkward between her and Dachi, they ended up distancing themselves. Emiko felt so heart broken, she was chasing after him and knew that he wouldn't be interested in her but still wanted to try. She even was planning to go to the same high school as him. After a long hard thought, Emiko decided that she wanted to have a fresh new start and move away from her hometown to attend Taikyu high. It’s at this school where she wants to focus on her studies, work on herself and help support her mother. At first Emiko’s mother was a bit unsure about it but she ended up accepting her daughter’s decision. Emiko reassured her mother that she will message her, send her letters and come back home during the holidays.

Emiko is a reserved girl who likes to keep to herself, she really doesn't have many friends because she focuses too much on her reading rather than socializing which makes her aloof to her other classmates . Even though she doesn't really socialise much she does observe her classmates and the people around her. Since she loves to invest herself to read romantic novels. She always daydreams of romantic situations and imagines if she did fall in love again, though she has huge doubts that she would in school, she feels the guys have no class. It takes time to get to know Emiko and she can be stubborn and selfish about her thoughts and opinions but once you warm up to her she starts to open up and be more comfortable with herself
