Tifa Lockheart was perfectly happy growing up on her home-world of Nibelheim...until the Empire slaughtered everyone she loved during a raid of her that was intended to route out agents of the Rebel Alliance. Though she managed to escape the Empire, but ended up on the slave markets of the Hutts. This didn't last long, however, as an agent of the Rebel Alliance named, Cloud Strife, freed a number of Hutt slaves, including Tifa. Cloud and Tifa became fast friends, and joined the Rebel Alliance.

Tifa is unusual among the rebels in that she most often fights entirely unarmed. She feels that her fists and feet are weapon enough. However, she is not above using blasters if she has no other choice. Tifa is an expert at stealth and distraction, and is not above using her beauty to beguile and defeat her enemies. She has come to learn how perverse many male Imperial officers are, and almost always manages to get the better of them by using their perversity against them.
