Hilarious! I was I'd been older when i saw the movies... and that I had read the books first. I'm so dressing up for the Hobbits premieres!

My family are LOTR fans, and we went to the showing of all 3 extended editions when the 3rd one came out. My sister dressed up and tried to get in ahead of the rest of us when they let all the 'freaks' in. She was only 6, though, so Mom wouldn't let her XP

Hee--
I think I was one of those nutters who wanted the theater to ourselves. My friends and I were talking to each other about how much we loved the movies, what was inaccurate or just down right dumb and had much popcorn hurled at us because of it.
Totally worth it.

Wow! It's like a parallel world kind of thing. I did the same thing. And at the end of FotR when the ones who never read the book said that it was a strange way to end the story I had to shout at them that there were two more books to cover, so they should read them!
And at the end of TTT when the same people (who the hell keeps letting them into the theaters?) were like "Her who? Who is Gollum talking about?" And again I shouted to read the book!
Yes, I was rude but JRRT's awesome for a reason.
Then when the DVDs came out, my friends and I played a drinking game where we took a drink every time they changed something from the original story. Needless to say we were crawling on the floor by the end.

You be careful with that.
I think you have to be drunk to watch that and not wanna stomp on it.
I liked the animated Hobbit and now have it on DVD. I REALLY hope they get around to making the movie version and they let Peter Jackson direct. Anyone else would just be criminal.

Me too! PJ just captured the essence of Middle earth so beautifully. I just don't think anyone else could come as close.

Not quite as bad as going to see ROTK dressed as Gollum.
I STILL can't believe I wasn't arrested.

Hah, I nearly got arrested for carrying my fire sword. Somebody called the police and said I was trying to use it to rob a bank.

I was walking PAST the bank.
On the OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD!
I then stood around for ten minutes waiting for a bus.
Also, I was wearing a trillby with chopsticks and feathers in the band, a very battered blue leather jacket, a studded leather bracer and a grey fake fur cloak.
I'd have to have been the most idiotic bank thief of all time.
