haha.. it's blindingly brilliant as titles go, isn't it?

Cheers babe! I had a problem with the direction when I was drawing it.. it didn't make sense that the mane was going up while the tail went down.. but after trying to draw it differently about 5 times I thought "f*k it!* and drew it how I wanted, instead of trying to draw it "right" :3

I'm still in amazement here <3Β
Awww hun that's amazing, and a very good attitude I -really- need to adopt that, I think it will help me be happy with my arts Β

More and more these days I'm asking myself "why" I'm doing something in order to help me make these choices.. if this was a commission piece I probably would never have been able to take that decision because I would want it to be "right" for my client, but when I asked "why am I drawing this?" and the answer is "For fun" then it makes choices like that a LOT easier - Β I certainly recommend it! We give ourselves way too much trouble over our art and try to make every little thing perfect… sometimes it's far more important to just have fun with what you're doing, and learn from the process and produce something that makes you smile, even if it's not /quite/ right `:]Β

That is certainly a way to think about it what with how irate I've been getting with myself lately <3 Truer words were never spoken, hun and I'm certainly going to try to think that that more. I mean no matter how angry I get at my drawing, I'm still going to pick up the pencil again, I might as well have a blast with it Β

To pick up on this again babes, I've noticed more and more lately that when I sit down to draw I try not to have an idea in my head of what I'm going to do… - I just put my pencil to paper and see what comes out… - because I have no prior preconception I have no "aim" so I can't "fail" … just doodling as the moment takes me is very much more therapeutic and enjoyable for me atm than planning a picture then stressing out about not being able to get it "just right" `:]Β

I must -seriously- have gotten into this rut, you know. Without an idea, I sit with my pencil tapping on the page. I have tried hehe. It's a brilliant idea and really would save my frustrations, but I'm an utter blank lol I really will continue to try this technique hun, break me out of this bad habit I was always told I tended to be rigid in my art, I need to get more loosey goosey Β

seriously just draw ONE line. - one wibbly wabbly line, and see where it goes.. splodge drawing is another technique that really helps me, and the way I've been drawing like this lately feels like the progression of splodge drawing. (where you see what the shape wants to be,in stead of trying to force it to be what you want) Β
