I thought that's what it was at first, too. They were pretty close that morning but not that close. It's actually an unusual sort of lens flare, I've been told. I edited the description to say that and it did for awhile then reverted. I'll try to change it again because I don't want to be a liar. It's still a great shot, though, I think. I think it looks more like binary moons or stars.

Well, you have eclipses and such and other times like, and I suppose it could happen at a time when both bodies are visible, that but that wasn't one of those days.

I was really lucky (read: industrious for being out there at 6am) to get that shot. I've never seen the moon/sun so close together before. It lasted only a few moments before the opportunity was gone. Thank you so much for your kind comment and for adding it to your favorites.
