Description
I was going for something Arthur Rackham-ish. Not sure of the outcome. So crits are welcome. It became a sort of tradigital experiment along the way.This particular Chinese dragon is based on the very endangered Chinese Alligator.

Oh? That looks a lot more better than I expected, when people using alligator as a base to draw Chinese Dragon. The scale on its back did a very nice job, and also I like the ink used in both line and brush in that way.

I've been studying Rackham too. A thing I've noticed is that he often uses a brush on tree trunks. But yes, very Rackham-y, especially the forms. (I've got some reproductions of books he illustrated, I could bring one to school if you'd like to see pictures in their original context)

VERY Chinese-looking - not just the dragon, but the trees, water, overall feel. Interesting "antlers".

One that takes to land rather than air. I can imagine it likes to swim to achieve some sort of flight simulation. ;D

wow i usually have a hard time drawing a "realistic" traditional eastern dragon, but you really nailed it with this one, with the body proportions, proper reptilian look, and still holding true to the look of the traditional eastern dragon look, well done

I love the pen-work in this, it's something new while retaining the voice of your own unique style. Very clean and deliberate! The leaves are especially lovely.
