There are dark alley ways, far from the light, where greed or jealousy or hate have led to terror and murder both foul and unjust. As for the victims, some say their spirits linger where they died. Lost souls that twist, distort, forget their humanity. Legends call them onryō and they are forever hungry. Should the unwary dwell too long in these passages such a spirit may attach. They follow the living like a second shadow or a cold draft or a spate of bad luck. They follow until there are no eyes to witness, and eat the flesh of their host.

Speaking of take out, if you are looking for a floater bot they often gather in the Kitchen District. After all there is a lucrative and tax free1 living to be had delivering orders to the passing transports. And it affords the former military AIs the opportunity to penetrate many a privacy screen, exposing the inconvenient truths of passengers and/or contraband overhead. Truths that can be converted into “veterans' benefits” with a little persuasive texting.
