Consuming the mind in its sad array
In hopeless hours seek out solace
That brightens bitter days
For tainted tears were made
To hold the world’s most somber woes
And if Death alike should fix itself
‘Long side those sorrowful souls
Behold that Northern light which lies
Not past thy fingertips--- to reach
A love, sincere and audible
In an honest heart to keep
