Five years ago this month, my best friend passed away of old age. This also happens to be the month in which he was born. It seemed an appropriate time to create this tribute to his wonderful life, and all he did for me. One can ask for no better friend than a pet, and Wolfy really was an amazing best friend. As an American Eskimo dog, he LOVED the snow, even when he grew too old to appreciate much else. I will always remember him as a wild Rocky Mountain dog, exploring the pines and aspens. I imagine his spirit still there, wandering the snowy silence of the forest whenever the winter comes.The talented Fox Amoore has composed a song that accompanies this painting! Please listen to the song while you look at the illustration, it really completes the feeling we were both attempting to get across as artists.

I know this was submitted two years ago, but it reminds me of my dog who passed away in November last year. I would love to play in the snow, and bite at the snowballs I threw during snowball fights...

I cried when I saw this picture... My dog is 14 years old now, he's mine since he was a puppy.Β
We're now waiting for him to pass away, he has problems with walking, can't see, smell or hear really good.Β
But he is still so happy and loving - I just hope he'll have it good somewhere else over the lightbridge...Β

I lost my dog a year ago and this brought me to tears. It reminds me of her and her love for the snow (she was a mutt, we never figured out what she had in her) and I'll never forget seeing her bound through the snow. The colors are so beautiful. I know this was submitted last year, but it is truly a beautiful piece, and shows how much love you had for him.

This is truely a beautiful picture. I think we all know what it's like to lose a best friend. I think you captured the essence of his life and both of your emotions perfectly. I love the colors too.

I love this illustration. It has both sorrow and joy in it.
The emphasis on the paw prints almost represents how loved ones leave a part of themselves behind for us even when they're gone. 
I like the composition of the picture a lot too. It's as if the viewer gets a brief glimpse of this tiny snow spirit that's still travelling among the snowy woods, being all busy enjoying the whiteness of it. The piece of music compliments the picture very well too.

This must be one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen. It's so beautifully emotional. Almost makes me cry. The detail in the sparkle in the snow makes it come to life. The emotion on what you can see of Wolfy's face brightens the mood. It's just so darn gorgeous! <3

Loving the detail you put in the wolf and the trees, especially the snow (especially the little sparkles in it). Everything feels so real and nostalgic for me. I say nostalgic because it reminds me of when I used to live in the East coast.
