Description Time for another tribe profile!  These guys are a little different than most tribes, as they don't have a large official established territory.  They do have areas of forest that are unofficially considered theirs, but they are often part of other tribe's territories.  They integrate into every territory, and live fairly secretive lives.

Pylura and Alecani live in an integrated society, and have been for so long that they've evolved similar looks for their adaptations to each territory. Alecani are the winged canines you see here, more information can be found on their species profile. ( tea-feathers.tumblr.com/post/1… ) The Pylura are the cat people you see here. Though not winged, they are highly intelligent scientific minded animals, who value curiosity and knowledge (species profile pending). The word "Dimali" means "people", a word separate from their species identity to denote they're part of a specific group. There are ten primary tribes that control the continent this story is set, each one with unique cultural and physiological traits!

I like the oriental shorthair vibe to these pylura.

I've been lurking through these (but reading them, this is very neat!) and have a question about this set.  Was the coloration for the Alecani of this tribe at all inspired by sparrows?  We have a species around here that's very reminiscent, cream chests and yellow stripes on their heads and otherwise the same soft brown.

Anyhow these are all fantastic, I'm looking forward to reading more about your races!  (Also I'm really curious as to how the Pylura and Alecani integrated/ how that impacts their society. :3 )

Aw, I'm so glad you like them!  The coloration for the Alecani here was inspired by owls, but I'd love to see a picture of the sparrow you're referring to!

I have an origin story of sorts that explains how they first met, something I'd like to make an illustration of and an accompanying story someday.

They do have an owlish look, I just got thrown off by the yellow stripe.  Here's a link to one of Wikipedia's photos of the sparrow in question:

Great!  I'm looking forward to seeing more of these guys and gals.

Oh wow, such bold markings on these ones!  Once again, they were immediately recognizable as "owly" before I even read the description.

Fantastic!  I'm really enjoying hearing more worldbuilding; sure, maybe this stuff isn't as outright flashy as fully rendered art pieces, but the *concepts* and ideas are so much fun.  I really eat this stuff up.  Looking forward to more! It's almost addictive; every bit of lore and biology just provokes more curiosity.  :3

Yay, thank you!  I am really enjoying making these, and continuing to flesh out my head world.  It feels like uncovering bits of something that exists, rather than creating something.

Yay, haha!  Yeah, I think not as many folks are interested in my head world stuff as they are in my finished fully rendered art.  Which is totally ok!  *nods*  I'm thankful even one person is interested enough to say something, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that folks enjoy my ideas.  ^^

I am still active in Weasyl, yeah!

I need to get back in the Weasyl scene, but I'm so stressed out that I haven't had much time to do community related stuff or keep up with everyone. As for your headworld stuff, I like seeing it b/c 1) your headworld seems very interesting and beautiful, and 2) it's great to see how other artists work through development of headworlds.
