I LOVE IMMORTAL RAIN.
I have trouble adequately expressing how much I love this manga. The best I can do is literally recommend it to =Kira-Temeki on a daily basis. It's unusual and wonderful to see such well balanced drama, action, romance, and humor. The characters are great, too! I just love it.This was a fun drawing to work on! I'm trying to learn more about digital art and to pay more attention to my colour choices. Lots of exploring and experimentation took place as I did this.
If you love Immortal Rain, talk to me about it! Please! Heck, talk to me about it if you've read it at all, regardless of how much you like it. I just need verification that there are others out there who know about this tragically obscure manga. xD

This is great. I like it. What I find the most gripping about it is the colors. It all looks so well-balanced and light and sort of magical. How the light barely touches all of them and the placing of the sunset -- I love Machika's shoes as a detail (you even have the yin-yang hidden in the soles! Classy!).... I almost feel like I can put my feet in that grass, and feel a summer wind, and smile with them.
I like this, too, because after it ended... it's really nice to see them all in a picture laughing together.
I dunno if you still wanna talk about it, but it's one of my favorite mangas ever. I cried so hard at the end -- I literally felt like a better person after having read it. I have several songs on my ipod that remind me of Immortal Rain and give me feelings partially because of that.

Its great to see the three of them together in such a relaxed atmosphere. It reminds me a lot of the scenes with Freya, but Rain seems even more happier here. That makes it all the more beautiful. Excellent piece. <3

Oh yeah, no problem!! x] It started when my friend and I wanted to give the series some love xD And I'm not sure. I'd really like it to, but Forger, the founder, isn't active on deviantart anymore. Plus, the series is slow to update chapters. And we tried to hold contests and they didn't work OTL

I tried to draw older Yuca, but he kind of ended up looking younger than I'd intended. >_> But I think Yuca's personality together with his child's body is a huge part of why his character is so interesting! It's unusual and sad to see such a small, cute kid so jaded and with such dark intentions.

Yeah exactly. I like how he kinda changed a bit when he realized Rain wouldn't. Macjika kinda annoyed me a bit though. But girl protagonists do for some reason... and I'm a girl.

I often have the same beef with female protagonists haha. But I actually rather like Machika! She starts out a little irksome/stereotypical, but I think she grows and develops a lot over the course of the story and ends up a much more mature and likeable person. I personally had more trouble with Ayla than I did with her!

i love immortal rain. it's a little known manga that should be appreciated more often. it's got great characters and a lovely romance. i'm kind of mad that it's not very popular in america. i can't wait to read the next chappies, it's so climatic!
i wish they would make an anime of it so i could see it in action.

Same here! I have gotten into the habit of checking mangafox literally every day for updates. It feels kind of silly, but it's become second nature haha! THE LAST CHAPTER (cross 63) WAS CRAZY! WHAT WAS THAT?? It reminded me of some combination of Inception and The Ring. o_0 I can't wait to find out where Kaori Yuki is taking us with this!

I LOVE Immortal Rain! They're not printing the rest in English so I'm totally printing the rest out because I'd been collecting the books as soon as they came out and I'm not giving up on finishing the collection. Grr.

I think she would be happy for him. I mean at the point in the picture where they would be sitting together. If she had come back I think she would have been either angry or scared of Yuca but in the end if he ended up happy it was okay.
Oh definitely. It doesn't get enough love. It's not just a good vs bad struggle, it's seeing the people change too. I love all the characters in it, even crazy scientist guy whose name I forget at the moment....they all made it come together beautifully

Yeah, I can see that happening! When I read your comment, I thought of Freya in the context of some kind of huge heavenly figure in the sky. Like Mufasa in the clouds in The Lion King.
So true! The character development is really something else. I feel like a number of hers are types of characters we've all seen before (spunky tomboyish heroine, gentle dorky hero, loudmouth rogue, etc.), but she remakes them in her own way so they are still new, fresh, exciting and loveable! Perhaps you mean Dr. Dora Folk? He is certainly an interesting character. Although Rain's friend, the doctor (with the glasses and ponytail! I don't think we ever learn his name), is probably my favourite crazy scientist! What a kooky guy.
The story both fills me up with love and completely breaks my heart at the same time. TuT

It was brilliant and Zol is amazing. His and Rain's relationship is odd, but I love it. It's even interesting with Zol and his granddaughter, Machika. Good story all around and explains quite a bit. I seriously suggest reading it when you have a chance.
