It's not an entirely new concept, however I do feel like you might have done better than the majority of the ones I've seen with this theme. I saw the other version and I think I liked that one just a little better. I think this one has too much of a metallic feel and possibly dulls the emotions that might have been more effectual if there had been more color to even out the red. It reminds me of a zombie. I think perhaps the red on the lips is a bit to bright for the grayscaled skin. I do, however, really like the effect of the hair. The color is vibrant, but not an impossible shade, as I've had friends with that haircolor.
I like the lighter skinned version better but, all in all I think you did a good job for a subject that is rather common. I think you could benefit from experimentation on other techniques for photomanipulation. Good Job!

I love the color choices, maybe you could work on getting the hair color out some more... its alittle dark and it would contrast beautifully
