Erik's worn Christine's ring on a chain around his neck ever since she left him. Even though he's now with Meg, and Christine is water under the bridge, he wears it as a memento of his emotional awakening, of a sort. He often fiddles with it while he's thinking, he believes it's a sort of good luck charm to him. It, and all the wasted love and music and ultimate heartbreak that it comes with, helps to inspire him.

However, Meg knows who it's from, and while she in every other aspect is a lovely young woman...Christine is a bit of a soft spot. In a fit of jealous anger, she tears it from Erik's neck and casts it into the murky lake.

Torn between fury; attacking Meg, and sorrow; falling to his knees and weeping, Erik stares in horror at his lover's face, then desperately turns and wades out to find it, dropping down to feel for it.

The fic isn't posted anywhere as of now, but I may make the link available eventually, if there's any interest in it.

In the meantime, I'm quite proud of this. I don't often draw anything this manga-like, but I like the way it turns out when I do. Drawing a wet poet's shirt is not easy. But it is hot. And if you can't tell, Meg was added as an afterthought, since in the fic, she's run off.
