Just read the explanation, because, though this is an excellent pic, my puny little mind needed it. And...awesome! I'd like to read this fic. And in the meantime I love the pic. Erik looks so frantic/heartbroken, and maybe a tad pissed off, and it makes me want to glomp him! So, of course, does the wet, sticking-to-his-nice-bod shirt. Which you did a very nice job on. And Meg - !!! She looks like a kid who's just had her candy taken away! I love this!

katubish In reply to Fontenar [2005-06-05 16:32:15 +0000 UTC]
Well, that's why the explanation is there. I like it when my drawings are self-explanatory, but that is rarely ever the case.
I'm sure Erik would appreciate the glomping...though I would recommend being gentle, and waiting until he returns to the shore in defeat, only to find that Meg has gone; never to return (or so he thinks). Because then he's REALLY going to need a hug.
Thanks so much, since I haven't said it, yet. I'm kind of surprised how many people commented on Meg...I tend to forget that she's in this one at all, since she was kind of a chibi-doodle that I intended to cut out of the Photoshopped version. XD
So thanks!

Awwww, poor Erik! O.o I say that so much. And I am usually not the type to "awwww" at anything. Dammit, Erik, you are weakening my image! *glares at him then melts and hugs him* I'm sure he'd appreciate some help finding the ring more.
Well, she is there, and she looks...actually, she looks like my mom's dog does if you take her snack away and she manages NOT to bite you. Although Meg is far cuter.
Where can I find the fic this is from?
=^.^= No prob! I like stuff that makes me go "awww" and want to glomp Erik. The fact that he's soaking wet and his shirt is sticking to him is a nice bonus.

I'm curious to see how Meg manages to deal with him...it's a cute pairing, but Erik is such a royal mess even before Christine. Poor Erik, but still - Meg would need some serious training as a shrink O.o

katubish In reply to Fontenar [2005-06-08 14:55:35 +0000 UTC]
Meg's got her mom for a mom. As I mentioned in an earlier comment, we basically figure Mme. Giry's a psychic (I'm sure there was a reasonable train of thought behind that, but I've forgotten it). Yeah, Erik's a fucking mess...but that's the fun of it! Who doesn't like to get a fixer-upper and do some work on it? Well...me. But I'm lazy. But I would do it, for Erik. <3
And it's better than Erik/Christine, at least in the confines of my brain. My Christine muse is a slightly deranged spoiled brat. Or, as my girlfriend's Erik muse decided to pitch in, just behind me, "Insane...? To say the least." (Sexy.) And the only Erik muse I really have is Kay!Erik, and he won't put up with her shit. Needless to say, the two are not allowed to speak to each other, and live on opposite halves of my brain.

Fontenar In reply to katubish [2005-06-09 03:39:16 +0000 UTC]
Hmm...yes...Mme Giry does seem like the type to be a psychic. And I just have to like her, because of how amused she is by Erik's notes. I agree with you about the fixer-upper bit; I'm lazy, too, but it would be worthwhile for Erik.
lmao! My Christine muse is a brat as well; my Erik muse is just...Erik. And they, of course, are not allowed to interact. I generally tend to keep Christine locked in a small room, anyway.

So I have had the misfortune of reading an Erik/Raoul fic. No, Erik, put the goddamn rope down, I do not, repeat DO NOT support the pairing. I just wanted to see how on earth anyone could make that work. At all.
It has some cute lines in it. For example: Erik keeps sending Raoul notes, and vice versa, with Mme. Giry as the messenger. And one day, Erik gets TWO notes, one from Raoul, and one from Mme. Giry that says, "I'm sick of delivering your silly love notes. Meet the boy somewhere and speak in person." Which, despite the absurdity of the situation, struck me as very in character for her.
Christine, for me, spends half her time throwing tantrums and not knowing what she wants, and the other half of the time insisting that she does no such thing, and that she's not crazy.
Yeah. Not crazy. Christine, you scratched skin off of my girlfriend (roleplaying incident). You wrapped Erik's hand around your throat and tried to make him strangle you. Come on.

I...oh. Oh, gods. I'm sorry, deeply and sincerely sorry, from the bottom of my twisted black heart. That sounds like such a thoroughly traumatizing experience! *shudder* Just...how the bloody fuck does it work? How?! *blinks slowly and falls over*
That does sound in character for her, but she must be the only person who was in character for the entire thing. Mme Giry does, however, kick ass.
Sounds like mine, although I have yet to let her out enough to know if she scratches. She has, thank god, so far refrained from trying to strangle herself with Erik's hand, or anything else.
Lmao...how very amusing. Especially since she has yet to pull that specific stunt on me =^.^=
She is a bitch and does not deserve Erik. That's the bottom line.
Erik, keep that rope away from me. I may have insulted her, but I complimented you.

The fic was okay up until the big (supposedly) realisation.
"There is no God...only angels. My angel. Raoul!" The Phantom sobbed.
That's a direct quote. Well, the speech is, anyway. And Erik did sob afterwards. It's...er...an interesting read. To say the least. But don't read it. Unless you suffer from self-hatred as much as I obviously do.
It's difficult, having a Christine muse and a Meg muse. Meg resents Christine because Erik loves her, and because I'm a big Meg/Erik fan...My Christine muse is just being a martyr, all "nobody loves me...Erik loves Meg now and I've realised that Raoul really is a pussy boy waaaaah pay attention to me." So I try to shut Christine up by RPing E/C with my girlfriend (who is ever obliging to my whims, even though her Erik muse isn't fond of Christine, especially after the whole psychotic breakdown incident), but then Meg gets jealous and is afraid that Erik will love her more. And when we play E/M, Christine gets all emo and lonely-like.
Goddamn muses.

*winces* That is...freaking scary *twitch* Especially since I've just spent several hours reading Kay's book, where Erik is an atheist to begin with.
That quote is just traumatic, on so many levels. My Erik muse is curled up in a corner twitching and threatening to punjab whoever wrote that line.
Hmm, yes, it does sound painful. I have a rather similar triangle going on in my own mind, between several of my own characters; it gets interesting, to say the least.
Mind if I slap your Christine muse? She sounds thoroughly annoying. And what, by the way, prompted the psychotic breakdown bit?
My Erik muse would like to say, "Don't bother; we're already damned."

Well, worse than that. To begin with, he's a Catholic. He just drops it like it's hot as soon as Father Fuckwad says that animals don't have souls.
You have every right to slap my Christine muse.
...But she gives me such pitiful looks when I say mean things about her. Sorry, Christine...
You know...I'm not certain. She told Erik that she loved him, and I guess she thought that he didn't react emotionally enough, or something. Or that she shouldn't have told him, and so she pulled out of his arms and insisted that he didn't love her. And...it just got worse from there on in.

I know >.< I have major issues with that, myself; the whole "animals have no souls" thing. If I don't get to see my little cat in heaven, heaven can go screw itself! I have Kay's book at this point; Erik currently just found out his mother died.
*does so*
*rolls eyes* Typical Christine. You know, if she succeeded with the whole singing bit, she'd end up as bad as Carlotta, and Erik would regret ever helping her out. Except of course her voice would be better than Carlotta's.

Hell, yeah. Erik so totally kicks ass! I alternate between being in awe of him, wanting to hug and comfort him, and wanting to molest him...bad me. Bad.
I also love when the Persian is wandering frantically around the palace, swearing by intimate parts of God's anatomy, and finally finds Erik in the throne room, stealing diamonds...

Rage, regret, petulance...You've basically got it. Yes, he does get the ring back, eventually, though it takes him a long time, and a number of times he questions if he even cares enough to find it, through all that.
Computer colouring is one of the only things that makes my art worth looking at, most of the time. The main thing I like about it is being able to copy and paste photographic backgrounds, thus circumventing the main reason I don't draw detailed art.
And thank you, the shirt was, as I'm sure I mentioned, a hell of a challenge. Thanks for another great comment! XDD
