Finally got my MerMay piece done the other day! I'm not sure if I'll draw many mermaids this month but I wanted to draw at least one, and take the opportunity to draw a mermaid I wanted to last year! So, here is Queen Arethusa Alagona~ 💧

I've shared a little bit about her here-and-there before, and while right now I'm currently reworking all the rulers' bios, what I can share for now is that Arethusa is a real mermaid! 🧜‍♀️ I had the idea years ago that all Mareasians had the mer-gene, but I changed that after a few years so only some natives have it(all native Mareasians can breath underwater, though). I always envisioned the Alagona siblings would have it, and it was sometime last year or so that I decided to make Arethusa a full-mermaid. Which would make Meredith, Brooke, and Murphy all half-merfolk, since their father isn't one.
