I wouldn't say it's tasteless; it's actually pretty sweet. 
Tasteless would be if he appeared to the Cheagle elder and said, "Hey, I brought Mieu back, I didn't eat him, you're welcome, hope he doesn't burn down another forest" and immediately left.
That aside, great comic. Love how you drew Guy and Luke in the middle panels.
