Drawn just in time for ComicPalooza 2011. As you can tell my background work is rather....simplistic compared to my actual drawing XD I really enjoyed working on this, despite having to rush it for the convention. The chrome armor things were hard to color but I think I'm pleased with the way they turned out.Also....is it just me or does Starfire have a very Mona Lisa-esque face in this picture? It was unintentional but her face strongly reminds me of the Mona Lisa painting o__O
Done entirely in paint tool sai, EXCEPT for the two planets in the background. Those were done in photoshop.

I admire this drawing personally, and would like to say that this drawing really brings out Starfire, the Technique is very creative, and shows her personality
much. I like how the background can get a grip of the viewers attention.Though, there's not much to fix, I would like to say that on her clothing use a softer purple. The silver on her arming look realistic and can easily bring a viewer forth also the emerald stone that in on her belt and arming are beautiful work of art.

Β Yes the purple is a little bright, I tend to do that a lot with my colors. Β This is an old piece for me, but I think if I were to change anything, I'd probably try to make those planets match the drawing style a little better.

Oh, scrolling over, I noticed that you did have critiques enabled...I did catch note of something, but I honestly didn't know if it was a stylistic thing or whatever, so I didn't want to say anything and put a damper on your work, but her hands seem a bit small. Her wrists and ankles also seem a bit thin, but again, it could be a stylistic thinggggg.
Also, because of so much intense blue and purple in the background, I think it'd be better if those colors were reflected a bit more strongly through further shading and highlighting on her, but that may be absurd and unnecessary, especially since this isn't a super serious or realistic piece.
You did a wonderful job, though...I forgot to comment on the clean lines, too. Oops! But seriously, there is some great synergy between your lines and color. Beautifulllll

Yeah hands have always always been a problem for me. I did kinda see that the hands were small, but the reason I didn't fix them was because I was thinking of covering them up with her starbolts later. Only later, I decided not to do the starbolts because she would have to be 'righteously' angry in order for her to use that power, and in this picture she's smiling, so the starbolts wouldn't have been appropriate. And so alas, I was left to expose the small hands ^^ The skinny ankles I guess is sorta a stylistic thing I do for a lot of my characters. I tend to have the habit of tapering limbs like that, but I think it is a habit I need to break, and I thank you for pointing it out XD
I also wish I spent more time on the background, and I probably would have it weren't for the fact that I was sorta rushing this for the comic book convention. Backgrounds aren't exactly my forte but I'll be sure to practice on that XD

You know, I generally steer clear of fanart from series I don't care much for, but it's kind of sad that there are so many favorites and so few comments, especially with what you've done.
Those colors are just lovely; it seems like you spent a lot of time on them...I'm particularly fond of the shading and highlights. I really like the background gases and colors, too, though I think you could have spent a little more time on them and coulda made it really wicked...but it's not bad at all! :}
I think you also handled her face really well...for some reason, my eyes keep going back to that area. Oh well, haha. Nicely done! Keep up the great work!

This one's even more impressive, but then again she IS surrounded by the cosmos so I guess she should be.
My favorite little detail is how you lightly brushed her orange skin with a light outline of purple. It definitely makes hers seem like a body that's not of this world. And of course everything else is finely detailed (her shiny metallic coverings and long flowing hair being especially well done) as well. Mmm, and those deep green eyes...
Simply gorgeous work. Shame I'm not attending ComicPalooza 2011, because if so I would definitely want a print of this.

I did like this one much better than my Terra pic. Maybe because I like this character more I ended up spending more time on it. I'm very happy that you picked up on all the minute details of this picture; all those details took me a while to do!
