Description So I guess you could say that I am totally new to polymer clay. Those cutsey cell phone charms you see at anime conventions as well as here on deviantart have always tickled my interest, though I've never had the chance to make them. Well, behold my very first polymer creation. Obviously I could use a lot of practice, but still I'm satisfied with my very first attempt. The pendant's rather big, so it could even double as a brooch if I were to go in and glue a pin to the back. Hopefully I'll be able to sell things like this at Comic Palooza coming up

With this particular pendant, I mixed Sculpey III with Premo Sculpey. Hopefully this pendant will be able to stand the test of time, I've been told that Sculpey III alone is very brittle. Hopefully the Premo in there will boost its strength.

I appologize for the poor photo and lighting; I was kinda tired after making this pendant. Sadly the photo does not pick up all the actual detail

I think you have every right to be proud!! This is awesome!! It looks like real metal, is it the paint?

Um, may I ask why you did not just use 100% Premo? I know nothing but just wondering.

Oh and another reason why I mixed the clay was because I didn't want to waste the other weaker clay.

I used metallic paint for it, I'm glad it came out convincing though

I mixed two types of clay because I was new to clay and I didn't realize that I had purchased a relatively weak clay. So I mixed in the weaker clay with the stronger one to ensure its durability. I actually ended up liking that combination anyway, it gave the clay a nice working consistency.

Thanks you so much for all the comments you have left on all my more recent deviations! You truly are an awesome watcher, and I'm glad I was able to hear from you again <3

Aww, thanks! I've also put down art for quite some time, should pick up the pace. :3 I loved all your new deviations, hence all the comments. :3

It happens to the best of us when we get tied up with other things. Now that the convention's over I haven't been very productive XD

This looks excellent for your first attempt! I'm hoping you decide to make more in the future. :3 Though I haven't worked with sculpey in a long while, I would say premo is my favorite to work with. It's smoother, and definitely more flexible when baked.

Thanks! Oh I'm sure I'll be making more, I'm having a lot of fun with all the clay I bought :3 Yeah, in the future I'll be sure to buy Premo. When I went to the hobby store Sculpey III had the most available colors at the time so that's what I ended up grabbing. It wasn't until later that I learned that Sculpey III is like the most brittle clay you could buy @_@ oops. Thanks for your input

Just a little tip, when my clay is crumbly and I'm too lazy to kneed it, I throw it in the microwave for 5-10 seconds. And you're welcome.
