Is that suppose to express loyality?
see how painful it is for Pinkky to see her Symbol die (friend, love, kid,...). That is why it looks away

Though painful to see, it instists to stay close, may be to give that dead lonely departed a smell of the lovely past. Or even may be Pinkky just wants to feel that it believes in something, that is why it offered to be loyal to someone or something.
