Description Leaves

How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,
Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.
At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.

Yes darn it all! I too keep running into these little children playing instruments on remote rural trails and paths. What's up with that?

And why do they call them pipers if they're playing stringed instruments?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

kayceeus In reply to thomcomstock [2009-12-29 16:02:01 +0000 UTC]

Ha ha they call them pipers because they can't think of anything else to call them and who says it's got to make sense!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thomcomstock In reply to kayceeus [2009-12-29 18:32:07 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm going to start a new fad and begin calling them 'stringers'.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kayceeus In reply to thomcomstock [2009-12-29 20:17:59 +0000 UTC]

Ah ha I should rename it Autumn Stringer or maybe Strummer!! Think I will... Thanks!!

thomcomstock In reply to kayceeus [2009-12-29 20:23:08 +0000 UTC]

You do realise that I was just playing.

... although Autumn Stringer and Autumn Strummer do have their charms.

Get one with a trumpet and you can have an Autumn Strumpet!

kayceeus In reply to thomcomstock [2009-12-30 01:23:45 +0000 UTC]

Oh I know you were playin' but since that title had always bugged me anyway I figured why not change it? Ha ha
I'm definitely going to have to find a trumpet!!!

thomcomstock In reply to kayceeus [2009-12-30 08:31:23 +0000 UTC]

Oh, you really changed it?

I want to see the strumpet with the trumpet.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kayceeus In reply to thomcomstock [2009-12-30 16:30:52 +0000 UTC]

I did change it and credited you for helping me with it also as a matter of fact. Don't you know someone used a trumpet in a work she did just yesterday [link] well actually it's French Horn but a horn nonetheless!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thomcomstock In reply to kayceeus [2009-12-30 20:02:57 +0000 UTC]

Admittedly she looks a bit like a strumpet of sorts, but that is a french horn, not a trumpet

kayceeus In reply to DenisSavoie [2009-12-29 16:04:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much but actually it's no big secret at all, mostly I just use cloud photos and put the dark where I want it to be dark and the light... well you know the rest!
