finally completed my Inner Senshi XD

when i first started watching Sailor Moon and was only aware of the Inner Senshi, Sailor Jupiter was definitely my favorite besides Sailor Moon. Mako was the first female character i'd ever seen to be tough, strong and feminine at the same time, and also be ostracized for her size, a trait i really related to. my favorite Mako moment was the girls going to an ice-skating event, of course a trap set by Ali and An in disguise as an attempt to find Sailor Moon, and Mako develops a crush on Ali disguised as a professional ice skater. he's taking turns skating with girls and lifting them up over his head, when Mako asks him to skate with her and he tries to lift her up but can't because she's too heavy. so Mako lifts him up over head instead! XD such a great moment! i loved that Mako was a strong and fierce warrior who would beat up anybody who messed with her friends, but was also a great chef, and a bit boy crazy, despite her size intimidating most guys.

something i've never been crazy about with Sailor Jupiter is her color scheme; i felt like of all the scouts, her green/pink uniform is much less harmonious. but i recently learned through reading the manga for the first time that in Japan planet Jupiter is called "the wood star" (i'm assuming because its brown, swirly appearance resembles wood), and in the manga Mako has a hobby of growing and tending plants, tying into her planet's symbolic theme, and also explaining her plant-based attacks (Oak Evolution), while she still had thunder and lightning-based attacks to tie into her planet literally. so i assume her pink and green color scheme was chosen for similar reasons, tying into her personal theme of flowers and plant life, which is pretty much completely left out of the anime.

i always liked that Mako was the tallest of the Senshi, once again playing on her patron planet, as Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. i played around with her design a bit, and decided to make her more solid and muscular as the toughest and strongest Inner Senshi.
