Maaaan there really needs to be a category for digital spiff-ups of traditional art. /whines at DA

Anywhooo. Have had this sketch laying around for a little over a year, which is pathetic, but I kept thinking "oh, I'll lineart the whole thing and finish it up digitally all sunset-lit and spiffy and stuff," and was planning on actually drawing what he's passed out on (it was intended to be some mech parts laying about, or possibly even the cockpit of Gurren or Lagann; you can see that I REALLY OBVIOUSLY ran out of energy for that, i.e. made no attempt at all~), and generally being less of a cop-out than this. And then I finally decided that if I did, it would lose the soft quiet sketchiness, which is really what I most like about it, so.

FUN WITH TEXTURES IT WAS, THEN.

The main point of the whole thing anyway was to play with the idea of Kamina in an off-screen hour of brief peace, taking a nap after a half-hearted attempt at intellectual self-improvement. And to indulge my unreasonable affection for badass characters in quiet moments, sleeping boys, freckles (shoosh I know he doesn't have freckles in the anime, indulge me), glasses, and pretty eyelashes. Not eeeven gonna lie.

Aaaaand if he [UNINTENTIONALLY, I MIGHT ADD] just happens to look maybe a little like a certain actor who also has freckles and stupid eyelashes, has been known to sport reading glasses, and had blue hair that one time... well. I at least am not precisely complaining. *cough*
