Only complaints are the mouth region and the eyes. You nailed the hair.
I'd practice tracing on top of the reference several times to get the imagery ingrained into my hands. I think it really helps to trace other's work (pick people who know what they're doing). This is similar to making cover songs in music production!
keep it up. : D

I haven't done a portrait in years so it's not surprising that it's ugly, haha.
I was going to say that anyway, but it's too late to change it, because I needed to rush it for Avril's birthday on the same day I made this.
I've actually traced a lot of my Flash vector works before (I'm very sorry) but I don't do that anymore, due to my former online friends (and many people) saying that tracing is bad. I'd like to uhm, learn it the hard way (because I'm a masochist lol).
But thank you! And yeah, I'm only ever good at drawing the hair. It's actually hard to practice if you have like, 5+ hobbies. XD

Tracing is NOT bad! haha go trace! As long as you don't upload it as your own art. Just for practice. I wish I was really good, so I can give you valid advice, haha, but I'm in no way optimized for visual art. I used to be really really really bad. I'm not that good at seeing things (I'm more of a music person)... everything I do is through sheer hard work. lol
And you wanna learn it the hard way??

www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzDGO0… (<-- this is very important. It is foundational. lol)
I hope those resources help you! Ever since trying to study it that way, I've been improving a lot. And yeah, I feel you. I'm struggling to fit time in to practice everything too. We're busy. lol
Good luck!
