I used a Canon Rebel. The shot was simple to set up. Just take a long exposure (30-35 seconds), have a low f-stop and high ISO (mine was 1600). The hardest part of it is focusing in such low lighting conditions. Of course, a tripod is a must.
I love shooting the stars! I just learned the other night when conditions are favorable for spotting the Milky way and BAM, I found it!

Oh cool thanks for letting me know!!
I don't actually own a camera at the moment so i'm stuck with my phone camera and i'm looking at buying a decent one so I can take photographs like this.
