A new Overrated vs. Underrated for everybody, this time it's a little controversial. Now as some of you may know I ended up enjoying the Anime Demashita! PowerPuff Girls Z more then I did the original PowerPuff Girls. Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate the original PPGs, I just thought it was... pretty good, not great but pretty good. I got bored with the original around the third season, while few episoded stood out the rest seemed to get a bit dull or repetitive, PPGZ I enjoyed all the way through, it's funny because Momoko Akatsutsumi was my favorite character in PPGZ yet Blossom to me was the most boring. The movie was okay, and that 2014 special was Meh, but at least it helped keep the PowerPuffs alive (Now if only they did that for Dexter). I don't think PPGZ is the best Mahou Shoujo anime out there but I do believe it get's too much hate. (I blame nostalgiatards) And I've heard some of the stupidest arguments out there...1.Yes... I believe the original girls are more "Mary-Sue"ish than the anime girls.
2.Sailor Moon is not even the first magical girl ever made, so stop saying that about every magical girl show that comes after it.
If you don't like PPGZ FINE! But if you're able to judge something fairly like I do (I look at everything new and do all that I can not to compare it to the original) Good for you, because I can't stand these Nostalgiatard's refusal to accept anything new. Regardless, I still wish PPGZ was here in the US (With a new or Better dub) either way, while I don't think the PowerPuff Girls was the greatest thing made by Cartoon network, I will admit it did leave a great big impact that Cartoon Network needs to look back on (Which they obviously didn't do for the reboot, lets face it the new PPG feels almost like a more subtle Teen Titans Go! Little to no Action and a little too much Slice of Life, even though it still is better than TTG)

BTW, PPGZ gives me a lot of nostalgia of 00's anime ^__^
Modern anime is fine, i like some of them. But i kinda prefer 90's anime and early to mid-00's anime ^_^ They seem more energetic ^_^
I mean, just look at Saber Marionette J, it's a masterpiece ^_^

I too love to accept everything new, even on something that is familiar to me ^_^
That's why i love many modern videogame sequels to classic franchises ^_^
(And i do like Mighty No.9... it's a good game, like Mega Man games)

Mighty No.9 wasn't necessarily bad, but it was a glitchy, unpolished and seemingly unfinished lackluster mess.

I like Both PPG versions, the Original USA Powerpuff Girls by Craig McCraken, and the Japanese Powerpuff Girls by Toei animation and Aniplex (Except the Mortal Kombat-puff Girls on MUGEN 1.0 fighter game by Elecbyte)

How were the original girls Mary Sueish when most of the episodes were pretty much pointing out their flaws? I mean I would be here for days if I had to talk about each flaw.

Huh I think that the anime Blossom wants to help our cartoon Blossom because that she heard the cartoon Bubbles and Buttercup never take orders from our Blossom and I believe that Japanese Blossom wants to comfort her as if she was a mother to her then they also talk about how they compare american Bubbles and buttercup to Wolverine now he never takes orders from Captain America and that pissed me off.
So what do you think of what I said?

To be honest, I never understood the hate on PPGZ either.Β Yes, the original was better(And I've only seen a handful of episodes) but A.Β That's just a nostalgia boner, and B.Β Β If it emulated the original feel, it would just be the original with a new design.Β It brought a Japanese touch to a show that, wait for it, the were trying to give a Japanese touch.Β you'd need to life under a rock to not notice the difference between a Cartoon and an Anime besides the art styles.Β And while I do think the original was better, I STILL think of PPGZ more, due to the open-endedness of the series.
