I took this at like 2am this morning. No tricks with light on the church either. The church had lights all around it, all I did was lighten the shot a little to show the houses. I have decided that I like shooting in .raw format!Related content

Kevin, I love your sunset photos. I am a big fan of them too. But this one, like all the previous comments have mentioned, has a pretty wild effect to it. It is framed out perfectly, great composition.

I will try to get back to my sunsets in the future...they are my favorites too, but working 3rd shift does not reallyallowme to see sunsets that often since I am just waking up right after sunset.

That is a rough shift. You have to do what you have to do. Take your camera with you and something will catch your eye. Take care of yourself and be safe riding.

pretty sweeet ! and yeah ! that one lit window really adds to and makes the shot (not to sure about the lit window on the bottom floor/below though ?)
as for the comments on RAW/file size = storage is cheap (?)
you def get a better print off of a processed RAW.

Yes, the colors are more vibrant in Raw. Yes they do take up a lot of room, plus my camera saves both a jpg and raw image for each shot.

really like that. This way I don't have to save all the raw files,
and you can see immediately what you shot.

This kind of gives me a good vs evil impression, the dark steeple looks like it's being pushed away by the white one...That one lit window is pretty mysterious too

There are so many churchs here in the downtown area and in reality it does seem like the good vs. evil thing. Baptists vs Catholics, Lutherans vs Jews. This shot really broguht that out with all th light on one church like it was saying "our religion is better than yours".
Yea, I was wondering what they were doing too...maybe I need a longer lens and we can both find out
