Now, staining the heavens and earth serenely in gold,

It calls out the arrival of the new year_

A great new day of kosen-rufu.

The sunshine of revitalization

Pours down brilliantly on Hiroshima_haven of peace_

Inviting all to awake,

As young buds start to uncurl and boughs tremble.

My friends' joy spreads like the whoosh of waves,

Eventually washing over the Atomic Bomb Dome

And the Peace Memorial Park with its snow-white mantle.

It echoes far across the eternal skies.
