If you guys haven't been watching any of the Nintendo Directs earlier this year pertaining to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, we're past wave 5 and patiently waiting for the 6th and final wave to come. We've already gone past Waves 3-5 and we got so many surprises. Old tracks from the past Mario Kart games (including Tour) as well as brand new tracks AND characters too!!!

I remember last year speculating a little that we might get new characters as well but thought that I'd be just getting my hopes up for nothing. I didn't think it was gonna even happen at ALL. I thought this was just gonna be tracks only, but then they announced Birdo for Wave 4 back in March and then Kamek from 'Tour', Petey Piranha from 'Double Dash!!' and Wiggler from 'MK7' in Wave 5 in June! I was blown away! Okay, well not exactly, but I was surprised that they were actually going through with it! I was thinking they were gonna just save them for MK9 on the next console, but no! They're extending MK8DX's life span! 10 years of Mario Kart 8 is INSANE!

I'm guessing like everyone else said, the last two slots will be Diddy Kong and Pauline. Diddy Kong because...he has to be. He's a fan favourite from MKDD and MKWii!. Pauline because she's been thrown into everything AND they might have teased/revealed her entrance in Madrid Drift. Sorry Funky Kong fans! Guess you'll probably have to wait until MK9.

Oh we gotta talk about the tracks as well!

Returning tracks like Kalimira Desert, Waluigi Pinball, Mushroom Gorge?! HELL YES!
Maple Treeway, Rock Rock Mountain, Peach Gardens?! AW YEAH!
DK Snowboard Cross, DS Mario Circuit, Waluigi Stadium?! LEGENDARY!
Daisy Cruiser, Moonview Highway and Koopa Cape?! OH BABY!

We also got brand new tracks such as:

Sky-High Sundae, Merry Mountain, Yoshi's Island and Squeaky Clean Sprint!

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!

So here I am, drawing the newcomers. Or the veterans from BMK8(Before Mario Kart 8 lol). Birdo on the flame rider, Kamek in his standard kart, Petey Piranha on his standard bike and Wiggler on the Wild Wiggler! Just thought it'd be fitting to have Wiggler ride himself. Just like Yoshi and his Yoshi bike XD.

It took a lot to do. The angles of the characters were easy, but having to draw them on their bikes/karts took a little while to do, given that I've never made any art of karts let alone characters riding or driving in them, so this was a bit of a challenge, not to mention working on other art pieces as well as this, but I put as much detail as I could into the karts and bikes.
