He's probably okay, I think. I usually don't feed the birds during winter, because they have been very mild for years, but this winter I've spent a fortune of seeds (best quality I could get), and they really seem to appreciate it

I know, I just feel sorry for them.
We had a fairly tame winter compared to last year anyway. Last year I had so many birds, it was incredible, I went through a ton of seed too!

Just wanted to tell you Keld, that camera is incredible, after trying it out more I decided I must have it! The owner of the one I had decided he couldn't part with it but hubby is
talking about going halves on one with me.

Wow, that's great news. I actually wondered why the owner would sell that camera. Your hubby is certainly a great guy, Kelly

I'm planning to get mine sometime this month. I'm thinking of taking a day trip to London to fetch it myself. The flight ticket is only $75 these days

It's a very long story but anyway he loves it and I'm glad he decided not to sell it, I think he would have regretted it down the road.

My hubby is a great guy! He is a musician and we have a little recording studio here so he gets lots of toys and he wants me to have some too, I don't care about jewelery or fancy clothes so there you go!

Excellent news Keld, we are going to have so much fun!

Music and photography is an excellent combination, I think. I used to play the bass in a Latin jazz band some years ago, but now I mostly stick to my camera. And the toys are important in both cases to achieve good results, besides: Real girls don't need jewellery and fancy clothes to shine, Kelly

Sure, we're going to have a lot of fun. I think this year is going to be a good one

I agree. We used to make our living from music for quite a few years. He plays a mean guitar and I used to sing, we gave it up a few years back because we got tired of getting home at 3 am every weekend! He went back to school and became a high school teacher so he mainly writes music and records it here for himself and local artists. Anyway, playing bass in a Latin jazz group must have been lots of fun!

I like your thinking Keld!

Me too!

Yeah, it's a lot of fun playing in a band, but difficult to lead a 'normal' life. What kind of music did you play?

Latin music is quite challenging to play, as the arrangements are often complicated and played in a fast tempo. We toured the country for about five years, but had to stop because we all had full time jobs beside. It was a great time and I still have some cassette and video tapes which I should digitize sometime. We even played on national TV a couple of times. Sweet memories

Very true!
We played mainly covers of country music (which I hate generally ) and middle of the road type stuff. Some of mine included Patsy Cline, Shania Twain, Dixie Chics, Celine Dion and so on.

I can well imagine!
That is cool Keld, glad you have some nice memories, we have a few too!

Well, if you want to make a living out of it, you got to play what people like to hear. We only played an average of 1 job per month, but we had to rehearse and practise a lot due to the demanding style of music. In November this year it'll be 25 years since we started out, and we're talking about re-uniting for that special occasion only. I'm not sure it's a good idea, since it'll take a lot of effort to reach the old standard, but we shall see how it goes
