Description ~Lady Blue III~

Dynamic hair + dynamic cloth + dynamic 3D wind + raytraced shadows + IBL+ HDRI + mapped shadows (hair only). Was going to make this an animation but Poser's inability to switch between IK and FK blew it. Anyway, this was frame #89 that became the final version.

Figure is V4. Hope you like it and thanks for coming by!

Very very nice pin-up! Amazing job with the vind and very intriguing expression. Without mentioning how beautyful is the silky blue dress.

Thank you! It was an opportunity to try something most people tend to ignore: Poser dynamic hair.

Thank you! This render was mostly about dynamic hair, and I have spent 2 days studying what it takes to make it look good. Poser has a special shader node called "Hair" that does a wonderful job with dynamic strands.

Wait, that's POSER DYNAMIC HAIR?

Wow, pretty spiffy. I've never seen a decent Poser Dynamic hairstyle before.

Yessss, this is Poser6 Jessi's strand-based dynamic hair. The original materials make it look like copper wires, so I had to redo them. In addition, dynamic hair in Poser cannot be rendered with raytraced shadows or it turns out looking like a "dirty broom". LOL With patience and some experimentation, I think dynamic hair usable after all. Try this in DAZ Studio!

Dynamic hair + dynamic cloth + raytraced shadows + IBL+ HDRI + mapped shadows (hair only) = Dynamicly raytraced mapped woman

But the hair is not raytraced...

But is the hair = 0

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ken1171 In reply to AcanthAI [2009-04-30 13:02:47 +0000 UTC]

The hair was rendered separately using soft mapped shadows.
Raytracing dynamic hair looks horrible in Poser for some reason. ^^

AcanthAI In reply to ken1171 [2009-04-30 13:06:42 +0000 UTC]

Which means...
Oh no!

If you didn't raytrace the hair that means it doesn't exist, and the number given to a non existent figure is 0!
WE DIVIDED BY 0!!
NOOOOOOOOOOO

*everything implodes*

ken1171 In reply to AcanthAI [2009-04-30 20:28:17 +0000 UTC]

The trick here was to render the entire scene with raytraced shadows - but not the hair. Instead, I set it to be invisible to the raytracer. On a 2nd pass, I rendered the hair only with soft mapped shadows, and THEN it looked good.
