~Sexy Elven Ninja~For a long time I used the "traditional" photographer's 3 lights setup consisting of key, flood and back lights, but recently I realized that doesn't work so well because the starting premise on a 3D scene is not the same - at least not in Poser.
More recently I've switched to only key and flood instead, with different light types and parameters. Those used to my old lighting setup might (hopefully) notice the difference. This is also another of my pics colored mainly with primary colors.

that lighting arrangement seems to work well. I've always had issues with lighting... most of mine have more than 8 lights

That's the thing: I am a minimalistic. Using 3 lights is already complicated enough, and anything more becomes tough to manage. For this render I used only 2 lights (key + flood) and rendered with shadows, IBL, HDRI and AO all in a single pass. Now I came to understand that I need no more than 2 lights unless there is some kind of special effect involved. And toon rendering uses only 1 light for best results with color contrast. I guess I have finally found my way with Poser lights now, where the fewer the better.

Fanart is easy ticket to loads of page hits, but that's not my stuff.
