That's what the eyes/optics are for; alot of emotion can be conveyed in the eyes.

How do we know they don't eat? The most likely don't *digest* organic matter, but heck, geophagy (Stone and dirt eating) happens in humans, so I don't see why they wouldn't mind the odd snack.

You do have a good point... and there are TFs with olfactory sensors (Hound, for example), so they might be able to taste things as well as smell them.

Taste is 9/10ths smell as they say...
Besides, they're always adapting and changing, one day, there will be a transformer that can utilize the copious organic matter. (Like in Jenssen's fic 👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Insecticons already do so, actually. They can eat just about anything and process it for energy. They're usually much smaller than the average Transformer, though, and seem to be rogues and mercenaries more than actual Decepticons.

They're the next step in digiloution.
But a species that thinks that asphalt makes a good condiment may not be the best when it comes to gourmet food.

*palms face* There were actually some "jokes" regarding Energon Optimus' "width" when Energon first came out.
I suppose Glory has been learning from the Insecticons, Rumble, and Frenzy...

TC: That's it, Glory, no more hanging with the cassettes. They're a bad influence on you.
Glory: But Uncle T, he really IS fat!

It's the worst trilogy series ever except for 'Cybertron/Galaxy Force'.
