the main character snaps and goes on a rampage killing,
and then they run into the bad guy that is just standing there all like,
"you're insane, OK?"
And then they get killed because justice.

It's a shame he ends up being stuck in the trope of "asshole victim". It happened with Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (I liked creepy comics before it was kewl. *hipster glasses*) too since Johnny, as interesting as he was, was a misanthropic individual that killed someone if they insulted him or did something that bugged him. Certain this dude would end up on the sharp, pointy end of Nny's dagger.
