He's one of my favorite characters in the series. At some point I'll probably try drawing him again. He's much easier on my pencils then Ichigo (8B Pentallic half gone, eeep!)

Well, half gone with three..wait, no, four Ichigo drawings, so makes sense, but still. They're $3.50 a piece, I just bought a new set at the beginning of August (my birthday present to myself) and the 6B is already a tiny stub, the 8B is half gone, and the 9B is thankfully not broken in half yet, but I just know I'm going to do it. (I've broken two already).

Hehe! Thanks! I'm soooo going to get another two 6B's and an 8B today. I'm doing another portrait, and it gets hard to maintain the proper angle on the pencil when you only have a short knub to hold onto. What kind of pencils do you favor?

I give you fair warning, it's easy to snap the 8B-9B in half while shading dark stuff...they are pretty soft (ah...only the woodless ones though). You should try them out some time. It looks like you have a pretty good handle on shapes and shading already really. The 6B and 8B would allow you so much more range in terms of shades of grey to work with. Do you use paper smudge sticks already?

Ah, thanks for the warning..I'll just be real careful...hmm...
Uuuum...I use napkins for shading sometimes?

Seriously, looking at your work, your lines are just amazing. You've got much better line work than me. I really look forward to seeing more of your work. So amazing.
Ah...paper smudging sticks...like these

I never used to use them, but now that I'm doing humans, with skin instead of a fur coat, I use them all the time and swear by them. Shoot, the portraits I do, more than half of the work is done not with a pencil, but by using dirty (already covered in pencil) smudging sticks, to shade, as well as to blend where I have to lay down pencil.

They are great for shading on clothes too!
Oh, and the compliment was meant with absolute sincerity. I love finding artists that get me inspired, and you definitely qualify! You make me want to do better.

I know! Pencil drawers unite! Woot! Hehe.
If you ever want to know how I shaded something, or how I got a certain effect, I'm thrilled to bits to share with you. I love both sharing and learning from others.

Probably because it was the very first drawing I uploaded. I messed up the sizing too. My first experiment throwing in a splash of color.
