I'd say dye but nah, I like this idea more plus TPC isn't gonna give us any confirmation so to me, his mom is for interpretation and I believe Ariana gave birth to Silver and Mars although Mars is Silver's older sister and while they rarely communicate, they somewhat get along.

I was always a little upset they never included Silver into the anime. In every other generation of the anime they insert the rival from the game.
