I was literally going to do a comic last year (But got distracted by other stuff) about this called “Alister Dadzimuth ” starting with a pseudo linear plot set 5 years after the Lombax Genocide where Alister finds an old infobot marked in a secret code he and Kaden used and de encrypting a message from Kaden saying a more literary-poetic version of “Al you fucked up so bad… like SOOOOO BAD. But you’re still my friend and the only one I can trust with this. My wife didn’t make it but I managed to send my son far away. I know the less people who know about this the safer he’ll be but…. I’m still his father and I still worry about if he’s safe and okay. By the time you found this infobot, Tachyon will have caught up with me. You owe me this much Alister. Check on my son. He’s in Solana. That’s all I can say.”
Alister drops everything and for 2 years searches the Solana Galaxy for any trace of a lombax, his ship A.I. having a program to basically also google search news and video, until one day his ship alerts him of a match and pulls up a live news broadcast covering a small Lombax child who stole a hover bike from the Grims Garage on planet Veldin and the police bots were rushing behind him to try and explain to him how to turn off the bike.
Alister immediately rushes after him but by the time he gets there it’s all over and Ratchet was returned to Kyzil Plateau Orphanage. Alister goes there basically angrily demanding that he be allowed to take the Lombax Child in the most angry Alister way he can but the Matron of the Orphanage ain’t having any of that bull shit and threatens to call the Kyzil police, but then Ratchet comes in with his orphan friends while trying to get his “Electro-Nausea-emitter” and while Alister is all shocked like “Wow… You look just like your Father” he gets Nausea-emitted and it gives Al enough time to calm down (And get kicked out) being told if he wants to adopt a child he should do it through the proper channels like everyone else.
That doesn’t work out too well either though because Alister doesn’t have a home, a job, and refuses to go into detail about where he came from. After weeks of consistently trying his efforts catch Grims attention and Grim offers him a job at his garage with something like “I can see what your trying to do… but I don’t trust you. Nobody here does. You came out of nowhere and nobody knows you. I’m giving you a chance to prove me and the rest of Kyzil wrong (By now Alister is known throught Kyzil as that ‘Weird unstable angry Lombax’. Also worth noting in this comic Veldin is portrayed as an immigrant planet, as all the known species of veldin are from Polaris, and they make tight little communities) and I ain’t doing this for you! I’m doing this for Ratchet. Kid hangs around the garage a lot. If I even SUSPECT that you have anything but the best intentions for that kid, you can forget adopting, you’ll never set foot on the Plateau again!”
And so Alister starts working a job at Grims Garage and over the course of a year manages to buy a small home not far from his new job, develops a familial relationship with the curious young Ratchet, becomes friends with Grim and becomes a member of the community at Kyzil, Eventually (Because Grim is a very respect member of the community and vouched for him) Alister meets all the requirements to formally adopt Ratchet, and even wonders what he was going to do with Ratchet if he had gotten him on that first day on the Plateau? He had no job or plan and now he’s got a home and is not a General… but has a humble respect from people.
The next part is just small story lines of him raising Ratchet. School plays, first inventions, hover boarding, hover booting, prom, the classic fight “YOU’RE NOT MY DAD!” All the ups and downs of Parenthood leading up to Ratchet proudly building his first “All by himself” Ship at the age of 16 and met a little Robot named Clank who needed help reaching celebrity hero Captain Qwark for a mission of galactic importance and Ratchet wants to prove he can do cool awesome Lombax General stuff on his own without Alister to hold his hand.
Meanwhile while Ratchet is adventuring through the first game, Alister is back on Veldin tearing the planet apart yelling “I CAN’T FIND MY SON! WHERE IS MY SON! OMG HE’S DEAD ISN’T HE!? I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE HAD HIM CHIPPED!!!!”
*At job at Grims*
Al: “I can’t find him Grimroth! He’s nowhere!!!”
Grim: “Pass me that screwdriver. Al he’s probably fine! He’s 16! He’s probably off with some girl or his friends or something teenagers do.”
Al: “I raised him better than that! He’s responsible! HE WOULD CALL!”
*Grim rolls eyes and turns the volume on the tv up to drown out Mr.Mom freaking out*
Grim: “…Hey Al…”
TV: “And now a word from the Blackwater city hoverboard tournament gold winner!”
Ratchet on tv: “uuuuuuuh Hi… I’m uh… I’m Ratchet with Gadgetron hoverboards…? And I… Uhh–”
Clank on TV: “DUDE DON’T YOU WANT THE BEST IN HOVERBOARD TECHNOLOGY!?!?!?”
Grim: “Look at that Al! He’s alive!”
Al: “ >
And then the rest of the game is Alister being all “Why wouldn’t he tell me he was going to a hoverboard tournament Grimroth? Did he think I’d say no? Did he think I wouldn’t be proud of him? Wouldn’t want to be there and watch him win? IS HE EMBARRASSED OF ME?!?!?”
Grim: “I’m embarrassed of you.”
And after Ratchet and Clank stop Drek Alister comes up on them seething, having some how COMPLETELY MISSED THE BIG DEATH RAY IN THE SKY and starts chewing Ratchet out for not calling while he was out.
Ratchet: “Uh btw this is Clank.”
Clank: “Hello.”
Al: *immediatley calm* “Pleasure to meet you Clank, I’m sorry that my son is so irresponsible” *Immediately back to yelling* “EVERYTHING WORKED OUT FINE!?!?! DO YOU SEE YOUR FRIENDS ARM!?!?! DOES THAT LOOK FINE TO YOU!?!?!?
Ratchet: ‘….. this is the first time he’s called me his SON instead of ward or Charge…’

Now if only I had done this comic instead of the other one that only made it 14 pages before I realized I didn't have a plot outside of spending 14 pages to make a Neffy pukes joke!
